In The Drawer with Your Socks

He was a “where did you put my” man
Always on the move
as soon as he saw a woman he’d say
“where did you put my” – and stare.
His brother was a” have you seen my” man
And they had a cousin who only managed
“Coffee – that future’s file –
no calls for the next half hour -In my office.”
Another brother was a “don’t wait up-
Expect me when you see me-
I must have my freedom” while another an
“I’m off down the pub - don’t mother me” man
Came to grief early on
When she took him at his word
And didn’t
The rest survived, sort of,
Their repetitive performances repeatedly ignored
Or they only ever heard
“in the drawer with your socks”.
