I’m wondering heart beating
if he’ll think I’m cheating
he’s checking for cheating
and co-habitating
it’s ok they trained me
in waiting for nothing

perhaps I’ll admit
I’m unfit for work
that timing and clocking
are basically shocking
and I’ve quite lost the knack
of just going back
day after day
in the interests of pay
he’ll go through my statement
check I’m legitimate
he won’t try to trick me
or even restrict me

they're always announcing
