All asanas are tadasana with variations. All are balances of the outer body, inner body and outer and inner beings. All start with a breath and are measured in breaths.
I was trained by BKS Iyengar. I am not an Iyengar teacher as we all become our own yoga. More about this at my main yoga page.
I concentrate on detail as this applies to all practice, whatever the simplicity or complexity of the asana. I learnt the power and essentialness of detail from Iyengar.

One-legged poses are better done on a hard floor if possible. Not essential, just easier. They stimulate the brain/nervous system as they require a great deal of concentration. Use any props which help you stand on one leg at least for a time and, with head level gaze downwards and straight ahead about three feet.
Modified Vrksasana (tree pose) with the foot against the calf can also be done with a foot tucked into your inner thigh. This is the full pose. Both are effective.
